Warmer weather brings the annual Spring Gala: a magical evening of dinner, dancing, and a lively auction overlooking Long Island Sound.
Community Service is required of all upper-school students, and is encouraged at the middle-school level. Thornton-Donovan students have ben involved in countless service projects including, among many others, the Salvation Army, HOPE Soup Kitchen, Kevin's Kids (Iraq Project), Habitat for Humanity and the Humane Society. The younger students are exposed to service through the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America which is offered after school.
The Overlook Journal, our student publication, keeps the school community up-to-date on both school and world current events. The journal invites poetry, illustration/cartoons, movie reviews, and travel reports.
Soundings, making an annual appearance, is a written forum for our aspiring poets.
The Parent-Teacher Partnership (PTP) invites all Thornton-Dononvan parents to be a part of our warm community, and provides an opportunity to be a part of the growth and development of the school.
"I was very nervous to
perform in front of the

were there supporting me."

Once per quarter, the much anticipated Arts House Cafe night provides an opportunity for Thornton-Donovan students to showcase a cornucopia of talents. An evening might include everything from hearing Chopin on the piano to Rap on the mic, a fashion show of originally designed dresses to Hip Hop dancing!
Each September, moms and dads reconnect after the summer holiday to break bread with their children and each other at the "Muffins with Mom" and "Donuts with Dad" breakfast events.
In early December, the Thorton-Donovan family comes together to celebrate our spirit of diversity with International Night. Pot-luck style, each T-D family brings a dish representing their heritage or country or origin. You might imagine, at Thornton-Donovan, this is quite a smorgasbord!
The Holiday Luncheon brings our community together in the regal setting of a local yacht club to celebrate our diverse winter holiday traditions.
